2018 Lifestyle Project - Week 26

You can read the introduction to this project by clicking here.

We were having a heatwave so headed to a beach slightly further afield (we have found all the Bristol 'beaches' are mud not sand). It was just the escape we needed, but it did make us miss California again.

February Photo Project - Photo A Day - Day 15

Today was the most perfect beach weather. It was the first really nice day of the season; 76-79 degrees (for Brits that 23-26 degrees C), with just a gentle breeze, so we headed out with another couple of Moms with kids and dogs in tow, to Muir Beach.  It's not always this nice this early in the year...but I do love it when it is.

(As in years past, I've decided to do the February photo project and take a photo a day. It never hurts to have a bit of discipline and with all our transitions my creativity has been sorely lacking, so I'm looking forward to jumping back in. No real rules, just our life documented a little. Maybe there'll be captions, maybe not, there could be the occasional phone photo thrown in on busier days and sometimes it may be hard to narrow things down and there could be bonus photos. I'd love for you to follow along, or even join in. Let me know!)

52 Weeks of 2013 - Week 37

Sometimes the sun is not perfectly placed but a moment still has to be captured...real life folks! These two are best friends, to each, the brother they never had, with the added novelty value of not being in each others faces every day. It's a wonderful thing. They can talk for hours, I mean who needs sleep anyway?

Just sharing a towel on the beach (and I'm sure, a secret or two).

Grateful

My favorite times are the times we get to spend together as a family, it truly is priceless. I love this simple shot of my precious family walking ahead of me down to the beach, it fills my heart.

The day before Thanksgiving was a beautiful day, there was no work or school so we headed out to Fort Kronkite for some beach and hiking time. It feels so good to get outdoors and breathe the fresh air and to be free of distractions. For a girl from England, to be able to do that at the end of November and not be freezing my butt off is just wonderful, I don't think I will ever take it for granted. I love Northern California and that we can be so close to a city, the beach, the mountains AND the woods...we are blessed.

52 Week Project - Week 46

*Just as a reminder, this is a personal project I am undertaking this year, in order to shoot more and share more. Each week of 2011 will have a corresponding favorite photograph; snapshots from my life.

We all have a happy place, somewhere that time does not matter, where we feel calm and at peace and rest. Our spirit is free to soar. For me that place is the woods, for my children it has to be the beach. I like the beach, don't get me wrong, but on a lovely hot day. My children would happily go to the beach any time of year, in swimsuits or bundled up in their wintry garb, they don't care...and they would gladly spend hours there...oblivious to their mother's freezing extremities.

You really need sound-effects to go with these ones :)

  Ah fun times!

52 Week Project - Week 27

*Just as a reminder, this is a personal project I am undertaking this year, in order to shoot more and share more. Each week of 2011 will have a corresponding favorite photograph.

Another beach photograph. What can I say? We live in California and have nice summers and our kids love the beach, it is one of their favorite places. No apologies here.

I love the relationship that my husband has with each of his children, they know that they are loved and, oh so special. to him. This last year has been a time of transition for our son, and his relationship and need for his daddy has grown by leaps and bounds. I am so grateful for the example James sets, for the time he spends, for the love he gives.

These moments are so precious and I am so glad to have captured just a snippet of their relationship together; my man and my boy!
