New Baby in the House

 I had the absolute pleasure of spending some time with the Anguses (the daddy happens to be my youngest brother) and their adorable newly expanded family, days after bringing their new baby boy home. With two dogs and a three year old already in the house I'm sure they'll look back at these photos and much of it will be a blur; sleepless nights will do that to you. We captured lovely unposed memories as I just watched and snapped.

They are doing such a great job of including big sister and giving her lots of attention. Mummy even took time out to do some one-on-one baking.

Lovely family and such precious times :)

Five Days New

Becoming a parent, especially for the first time, has got to be the hugest life changing event ever. It's wonderful to get married and that changes life, for sure, but it's more about adding a person to your life, as it is. When you have a child your time is no longer your own. Your emotions multiply exponentially. You are responsible for another human being, who is completely helpless and totally relying on you...for everything. It is amazing and overwhelming and wonderful and truly exhausting in those first months, in a way nobody can explain.

Two of my brothers have just started the journey and I could not be more excited to finally have a new niece and nephew and see them becoming fathers, with their beautiful wives. We were just over in England for a, too short, trip and I was able to meet my brand new niece, still at the true newborn stage...in the hospital. She was a perfect little doll, alert and aware and just gorgeous. My time with them was way too short and I have way more cuddles and kisses to give this beauty, but I was grateful for the time we had.

Precious little Thea we love you so much already and can't wait to see the person you will become!

Lovely Lorelai {Marin County Newborn Photographer}

This beautiful baby girl has captured her Mama's heart. It was so sweet to watch their connection. A little girl after two little boys and this little girl is already fully stocked with handmade headbands and hats and all the pretty things that boys have no interest in.

These first few days are so precious and gone too quickly. How I wish I could turn back time and be captured like this with each of my own children, what I wouldn't give for photographs of my Mom and I. The pure love and devotion that a mother feels for her child is so hard to sum up in words, but a photographs can capture so much, when words fail. Don't be afraid to be in front of the camera, because, sadly, we cannot turn back time. This is it.

Congratulations again Beltran family. She is gorgeous!
