Sneak Peek - Baby Bjerke {Marin County Newborn Photographer}

Ah wonderful newborns! There's nothing like capturing those early days...blink and they are gone and without photographs, with the lack of sleep and reduced brainpower it can be hard to remember all those precious details.

These are days you will never get back, which you will look back on with fondness, even if in the moment it can seem so hard and at times overwhelming.

I think that they are all smitten!

Just look at her little personality already shining through and she is most definitely her mother's mini-me as well as looking so much like her brother (click here to see his newborn photos).

So much love to you sweet Bjerkes. Congratulations on your beautiful growing family.

Lovely Lorelai {Marin County Newborn Photographer}

This beautiful baby girl has captured her Mama's heart. It was so sweet to watch their connection. A little girl after two little boys and this little girl is already fully stocked with handmade headbands and hats and all the pretty things that boys have no interest in.

These first few days are so precious and gone too quickly. How I wish I could turn back time and be captured like this with each of my own children, what I wouldn't give for photographs of my Mom and I. The pure love and devotion that a mother feels for her child is so hard to sum up in words, but a photographs can capture so much, when words fail. Don't be afraid to be in front of the camera, because, sadly, we cannot turn back time. This is it.

Congratulations again Beltran family. She is gorgeous!

Sneak Peek - Baby Reynolds

Baby Reynolds arrived, and she was a beautiful 7lb 8oz little girl. Both parents are absolutely smitten with their perfect little girl and rightly so. This little girl is loved!

Here are just a few favorites.

Congratulations Reynolds family, your adventure has begun.

Twins {Cotati Newborn Photographer}

Before I had children of my own, I remember thinking how wonderful it would be to have twins. The adorable matching outfits, best friends for life and sure it would be a lot of work to start with, but it would get easier and they would always have someone to play with, to confide it. Then I had my first child and was overwhelmed and tired and wondered how anybody would be able to do it with two. Now of course we never had family around to be able to help, but even so...parents of twins have my utmost respect and admiration!

I recently had the pleasure of photographing adorable twin girls. So tiny and perfect! Twice the fun and twice the work; we had to be patient and just as one would finally settle down, the other would awake. In the end I think it was all worth it, they are beautiful, just like their Mama. Enjoy!

Beltran Baby Sneak Peek {Mill Valley Newborn Photographer}

I remember, when I was much younger, thinking that all babies looked the same. The truth is, that until I had my own, I really did not pay much attention to babies. Now that thought seems quite bizarre and I wonder who I used to be to think in such a way?

I am still astounded by how much a child can look so much like each of it's parents or siblings. Family genes run so strong. Now as I look at various newborns, it is hard to see similarities, other than the general size and need for care. Each baby, from birth, is unique with their own features and little personality. No two are the same.

I had the pleasure of photographing another little nugget, a baby brother this time. It took a while for him to fall asleep but then he slept hard for us, even through hat changes. I am not a photographer who carries a large stash of props (when I arrive at a house for a shoot I already look like I'm moving in) but would rather use things that have meaning to the family, whether it be a favorite blanket, or toy or item of clothing that is theirs, that or just the sweet newborn nakedness. This Mama is a crocheter and had a beautiful blue blanket as well as a couple of hats she had made for her sweet boy, she was well prepared.

Kalli, I do hope you are getting some sleep (hard with a little one and a baby, I remember)...I promise it keeps getting easier.

Beautiful Baby Beau {Marin County Newborn Photographer}

Newborns are some of my favorite photography subjects. Yes you have to be incredibly patient, yes it can take hours (no I'm not kidding!), but it is so wonderful to experience that newness again. I love to watch new parents as they interact with their little bundle. I am reminded of how exhausted and elated and overwhelmed and in love I felt. No one can fully describe it to you, it is something you have to experience for yourself to fully understand. Having a baby; your child, is truly life changing!

Meet one of the latest cuties.

Beautiful mama loving on her boy :)

Proud daddy doting on his son

Precious little moments...all of them!

Howards' Sneak Peek {Bay Area Newborn Photographer}

Do not be fooled by the photo above...this sweet thing did not sleep a wink during her little shoot! I guess I was just far too interesting.

Ah sweet newborns. A brand new, tiny person, with their whole life ahead of them. Sometimes it is hard to believe that we all started out that way. Little Miss 'S' has such delicate features with the most perfect girly nose. She was incredibly alert and gave me great eye contact and even some faint smiles. What a treasure.

Congratulations again to the Howard family, another beautiful little girl to bring joy and laughter to your household. Enjoy every moment (in spite of the sleepless nights) these are the best days of our lives!
